How we work:
Article Consignment Boutique is a traditional consignment business. We do not buy inventory. Items are taken in under contract on a 60 day term basis with automatic 50% markdowns taken on any unsold items after 30 days. Consignors receive 40% of the sale which is managed in their consignment account. Articles of clothing, shoes and accessories are accepted on a seasonal basis. Please call in advance to set up a drop-off appointment and to see what we are currently accepting.
Items must be brought in on hangers or gently folded in paper bags. The physical appearance and style of the items will determine whether the items will be considered for consignment. (Please understand that the inventory we accept is determined by what our guests are buying.) A copy of the contract can be provided along with a list of the accepted inventory. Also, when setting up the account, the consignor can determine whether any unsold items after the 60 day term will be returned to them or donated to a local charity (Sacramento Food Bank). A donation receipt is also available upon request.
The price of the items that are accepted are determined by the owner of Article but we try to work with our consignment partners to make sure the best value is put on each item.
Once the consignor's items have sold, the consignor has two options for the credit in their consignment account:
- Use the store credit towards purchases in Article Consignment Boutique and receive an additional 10% off every time!
- Once the balance in the account has reached a minimum value of $20 then a check may be issued.
