How we work:
Article Consignment Boutique is a true consignment business. We do not buy inventory--instead, Items are taken in under contract on a 60-day term with automatic 30% markdowns taken on any unsold items after 30 days. Consignors receive 40% of the sale which is managed in their consignment account. Articles of clothing, shoes and accessories are accepted on a seasonal basis. Please call in advance to set up a drop-off appointment (Monday-Saturday) and to see what we are currently accepting.
Items must be brought in on hangers or neatly folded in paper bags. The physical appearance and style of the items will determine whether the items will be considered for consignment. (Please understand that the inventory we accept is determined by what our guests are buying.) A copy of the contract can be provided along with a list of the accepted inventory. Also, when setting up the account, the consignor will determine whether they will be picking up or abandoning any items not sold within the 60 day term. Article Consignment Boutique's chosen local charity for donations is Sacramento Food Bank. A donation receipt is also available upon request.
The price of the items that are accepted are determined by the owner of Article but we try to work with our consignment partners to make sure the best value is put on each item.
Once the consignor's items have sold, the consignor has two options for the credit in their consignment account:
- Use the store credit towards purchases in Article Consignment Boutique and receive an additional 10% off every time!
- Once the balance in the account has reached a minimum value of $20 then a check may be issued.
Article appreciates a wide variety of designer labels; however, due to low demand Article will accept the following brands in limited amounts:
- Forever 21
- Gap
- Mossimo
- Old Navy
- Xhiliration
